The Only Kind of Shot I Take

Sometimes we just don’t want to get out of our beds in the morning, especially me when I am rising for an east coast timed conference call. Waking up early can be difficult, so I’d like to share one of my tricks to help you jumpstart your mornings.

Say hello to the ginger shot. This elixir is the best shot I’ve tried and has a great amount of health benefits and energy boost. Ginger supports digestion and immunity, is anti-inflammatory and boosts antioxidants. Turmeric is a spice high in antioxidants and also helps supports the immune system. The fresh lemon juice stimulates your digestive track and the orange juice provides the vitamin C you need. Last but not least, honey is a restorative, antibacterial powerhouse. One shot and your body will instantly wake up and be ready for whatever the day may bring. Enjoy!

Recipe:

  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice, pulp removed if desired
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2-inch piece ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2-inch fresh turmeric, grated (or pinch of ground turmeric)
