DIY Honey Rose Milk Bath

A honey rose petal milk bath is perfect for all skin types. Both rose petals and milk have been used in skincare since ancient times. Many believe that Cleopatra, known for her radiant and glowing skin, bathed in rose petal milk bath daily.  Rose petals are loaded with skin loving vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Rose petals are also naturally fragrant, with a calming and soothing fragrance. Likewise, milk has a ton of skin nourishing properties, such as softening and cleansing. Milk also gently exfoliates the skin, while encouraging skin regeneration.

After a long week, one of my favorite things to do is to draw myself a honey rose milk bath and soak in it while I read and relax with a glass of wine. To make one yourself, all you need are a few natural ingredients.

In addition to dried rose petals and powdered milk, this rose petal milk bath recipe also includes crushed oatmeal. Oatmeal has been used in skincare for millennia. Scientific studies have verified colloidal oatmeal’s moisturizing, cleansing, antioxidative, and anti-inflammatory properties. Scientists believe that oatmeal is safe and effective in treating various skin issues, including itchy and rashy skin. Oatmeal is also gentle on our skin and it’s great for people with sensitive skin.

This rose petal milk bath recipe also has a generous amount of Himalayan pink salt. As its name suggests, this special salt comes from the Himalayan mountain range, and has a delicate pink and rose-like hue. It is loaded with skin-friendly nutrients that many people believe can detox skin and stimulate circulation. It is said that adding Himalayan pink salt to a bath can increase the bath’s healing and cleansing properties.

Lastly, I love to add honey. Historians believe that honey has been used topically as a healing agent for over 10,000 years.  Adding honey to the bath will moisturize, soften and sooth dry skin.  The natural antioxidant properties in honey will help detox your body while you soak.
